Football Game Preview: Kosciusko Whippets vs. Louisville Wildcats + Official Tickets

Kosciusko hasn't had much luck against Louisville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Whippets will take on the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kosciusko comes in on six and Louisville on eight.

Kosciusko is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 14-3 victory over Corinth. The 14-point effort marked the Whippets' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Cj Sandifer had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 172 yards and one touchdown. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 100.2 rushing yards per game.

Clarksdale typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Louisville proved too difficult a challenge. They enjoyed a cozy 34-16 win over Clarksdale. Louisville's victory was all the more impressive since Clarksdale was averaging only 14.33 points allowed on the season.

Louisville's win came from a few key players Kosciusko will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zaiden Jernigan, who rushed for 162 yards and one score, and also picked up 46 receiving yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September. Triston Edwards was another key player, throwing for 195 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

Kosciusko's record is now 12-1. As for Louisville, their record now sits at 10-2.

Kosciusko came up short against Louisville in their previous meeting back in October, falling 29-24. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Jernigan, who rushed for 140 yards and a pair of TDs.
