Football Recap: Dhilyn Hollis' Menacing Defense Leads A.L. Brown over Hickory Ridge + How To Watch

A.L. Brown won the last time they faced Hickory Ridge and Lemar Grier did his part to make sure it happened again. The Wonders strolled past the Ragin' Bulls with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-14 with plenty of help from Grier, who rushed for 182 yards and three TDs. He has become a key player for A.L. Brown: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to A.L. Brown's defense and their five sacks. Hickory Ridge's QB won't forget Dhilyn Hollis anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Hollis has been hot for a while, having also posted six or more total tackles the last nine times he's played. A.L. Brown received some extra help from Hezzi Allison, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Although Hickory Ridge took the loss, they still got scores from Luke Untereker and Colton Laskowski.

The win made it two in a row for A.L. Brown and bumps their season record up to 5-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.5 points over those games. As for Hickory Ridge, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, A.L. Brown will face off against Cox Mill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Chargers have played have been within three points, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Hickory Ridge, they will take on Harding University at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ragin' Bulls will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.13 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
