C.B. Aycock entered their tilt with Smithfield-Selma on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Spartans a 25-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Golden Falcons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Nikayla Weaver was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Tortual, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.

The win got C.B. Aycock back to even at 10-10. As for Smithfield-Selma, they are on a 30-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: C.B. Aycock beat the Spartans by a score of 26-2 later that day.
