Football Recap: Springstead's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Springstead entered their tilt with Cypress Creek on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 21-10 victory over the Coyotes. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Coyotes, too.

Springstead's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was William Figueroa, who rushed for 136 yards and one score. Another signal caller making a difference was Tysen Norton, who threw for 108 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Springstead was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 252 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Springstead's defense stepped up as well, laying out Patrick Cognetta three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Zaihron McCullough, Lucas Bridges, and Kaleb Johns, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Springstead now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Cypress Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Springstead will head out on the road to face off against Nature Coast Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Sharks' defense has only allowed 13.3 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Cypress Creek, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wesley Chapel at 7:30 p.m. on October 10.
