Notre Dame Prep has won five straight games at home, while Bishop Foley has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Fighting Irish will host the Ventures at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Notre Dame Prep's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Cranbrook Kingswood as they made off with a 10-0 victory.
Meanwhile, Bishop Foley made easy work of Our Lady of the Lakes on Tuesday and carried off a 12-2 win.
Mason Kanar made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has become a key player for Bishop Foley: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Kanar was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Bishop Foley got a massive performance out of Cooper Dolot, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Dolot also put up two hits, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Vogel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Bishop Foley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Notre Dame Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Foley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Notre Dame Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. However, it's not like Bishop Foley struggles in that department as they've averaged .437. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
