Recap: Brazoswood Buccaneers vs. Clear Lake Falcons
The Brazoswood Buccaneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. Their rough 31-10 loss to Clear Lake might stick with them for a while. Brazoswood was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clear Lake apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Brazoswood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jose Trevi?o. Despite the final result, he rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown.
Clear Lake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Harris led the charge by picking up 129 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Harris was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards. Gavin Stepp also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.
Brazoswood's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.7 points per game. As for Clear Lake, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.
Brazoswood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Clear Lake also has no future games currently scheduled.
