Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is Summerville's 11th in Last 12 Outings

Summerville won the last time they faced Fort Dorchester and things went their way on Monday too. The Summerville Green Wave enjoyed a cozy 56-37 victory over the Fort Dorchester Patriots. Given the Green Wave's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Patriots are ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Summerville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Molly Daugherty out in front who posted 14 points. Cailah Tucker was another key player, putting up ten points.

Despite the loss, Fort Dorchester still got an impressive performance from Cailyn Webber, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. Webber is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted three or more in the last five games she's played.

Summerville is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for Fort Dorchester, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Summerville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-29 victory against West Ashley on the 29th. As for Fort Dorchester, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-32 win against Stall on the 28th.
