Recap: Champion Golden Flashes vs. Newton Falls Tigers
The Champion Golden Flashes''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Newton Falls 19-14. Champion was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Newton Falls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Champion lost, one person who can't be blamed is Christian Williams. Despite the final result, he rushed for 93 yards on only nine carries, and also threw for 90 yards and a touchdown.
Carter Rapczak got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 220 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Champion's loss was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. As for Newton Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Champion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Newton Falls is also done with their season.
