Softball Game Preview: Liberty Hurricanes vs. Emmaus Hornets

The Liberty Hurricanes will challenge the Emmaus Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Liberty came up short against North Pocono on Saturday, falling 11-5. The loss put an end to the Hurricanes' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Emmaus fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Abington Heights on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Comets by a score of 6-5. The loss was the Hornets' first of the season.

Taylor Hauver made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Haefeli, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Hauver wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Emmaus lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Emmaus fell to 5-1. As for Liberty, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Liberty took their victory against Emmaus when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-4. Will Liberty repeat their success, or does Emmaus has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
