Football Game Preview: Mundelein Mustangs vs. Warren Township Blue Devils + How To Watch

Mundelein hasn't had much luck against Warren Township recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m.

On Friday, Mundelein came up short against Libertyville and fell 17-7. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Wildcats are ranked 95th).

Meanwhile, Zion-Benton kept up with Warren Township until halftime on Friday, but afterwards: not so much. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Zee-Bees with a sharp 42-22 victory. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Zee-Bees: they've now won eight in a row.

Mundelein better keep an eye on Aaron Stewart. He was instrumental in Warren Township's win, rushing for 356 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Stewart's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 14th straight game with at least 113 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Warren Township was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 395 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive games.

Warren Township's record now sits at 4-1. As for Mundelein, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Things could have been worse for Mundelein, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 34-20 loss to Warren Township when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Stewart, who rushed for 247 yards and three scores while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.
