Baseball Recap: Pleasant Comes Up Short

Pleasant managed to slip by River Valley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Spartans came up short against the Vikings on Monday, falling 15-4. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Cole Bailey made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. That run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Conway, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for River Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pleasant will challenge Galion at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for River Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lexington at 5:00 p.m.
