Basketball Recap: Olivia Brown Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Madison

North Harrison proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 20) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the Madison Cubs out 54-52. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 64-55 victory the Cubs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

North Harrison got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Brown out in front who went 8 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points. The contest was Brown's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Goldman, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Madison lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Juliana Davis, who posted 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Davis has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Mylee Mcqueary was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

North Harrison is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-13 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Madison, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-5 record.

North Harrison has already played their next game, a 53-42 loss against Brownstown Central on the 30th. As for Madison, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-45 victory against Trinity Lutheran on the 30th.
