Softball Recap: Southwood Takes a Loss

Southwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 41-21 to the Mansfield Wolverines. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-8 back in March.

Southwood got a massive performance out of Haleigh Roberts, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one double. That double was Roberts' first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ayanna Lister-Mosley, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.

Southwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Mansfield, they moved to 4-12 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Southwood will host Loyola College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mansfield, they are taking a road trip to take on Lakeview at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
