Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Loughlin Lions vs. St. Francis Prep Terriers

Bishop Loughlin is 0-10 against St. Francis Prep since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Lions will welcome the Terriers at 4:15 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Bishop Loughlin challenged Bedford Academy on Sunday. The Lions came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 64-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since December 15, 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Francis Prep). They blew past Windsor, posting a 71-31 victory. The Terriers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 31 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for St. Francis Prep and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 54 points in those games. As for Bishop Loughlin, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Bishop Loughlin suffered a grim 73-51 defeat to St. Francis Prep when the teams last played back in January. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
