Baseball Recap: East Helena Falls Short Against Ranked Belgrade

East Helena faced Belgrade in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Vigilantes fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. The Vigilantes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 12-6.

Liam Priebe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits.

On the hitting side, East Helena saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Sutton, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI. That RBI was Sutton's first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for East Helena and nudges their season record down to 4-4. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Belgrade, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
