Recap: Basic Wolves vs. Faith Lutheran Crusaders
The Basic Wolves pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a tough 78-55 defeat at the hands of Faith Lutheran. Basic lost against Faith Lutheran in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 65-53 score last time.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ja'Mari Cottingham, who scored 10 points. Another player making a difference was Hunter McGory, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Basic now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Faith Lutheran, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Basic will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cheyenne at 12:40 p.m. on December 20th. As for Faith Lutheran, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Bishop Gorman at 1:00 p.m. Bishop Gorman will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
