Basketball Recap: Vivian Galvis Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Calvary Academy

There's no place like home for King's Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They strolled past the Calvary Academy Warrior with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 37-23. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 44-23 win last Tuesday.

King's Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Vivian Galvis led the charge by putting up 13 points and eight steals. Galvis is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Lillian Logan was another key player, earning eight points and 12 rebounds.

Calvary Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Abby Nelson, who posted two points in addition to five boards and three steals. What's more, she posted three assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lily Troy, who scored five points and eight rebounds.

King's Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-15. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.7 points on average over those games. As for Calvary Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.

King's Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 40-26 loss against Gloucester County Christian on the 27th. Calvary Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
