Volleyball Recap: Lakeland Christian Takes a Loss

Lakeland Christian came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Auburndale Bloodhounds. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Bloodhounds when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lakeland Christian took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-13, 25-16.

Sophia Kettler paced Lakeland Christian's offense, picking up six kills. Kettler got some help from LaVon Pozar and her 14 assists.

Auburndale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kristilyn Fields led the charge by getting 13 digs and one assist. Fields is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.

Lakeland Christian moved to 4-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Auburndale, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Lakeland Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Santa Fe Catholic on the 28th. As for Auburndale, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against All Saints' Academy on the 28th.
