Basketball Recap: Forest Hill Takes a Loss

Forest Hill lost against Spanish River back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Forest Hill Falcons fell just short of the Spanish River Sharks by a score of 62-60.

Despite the defeat, Forest Hill saw an underclassman step up: freshman Angel Ortiz posted 24 points. Ortiz's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Kavin Walker was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Devan Degiuseppe was his usual excellent self, posting 30 points for Spanish River. Those 30 points gave Degiuseppe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julius Coffey, who had 11 points.

Forest Hill's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Spanish River, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-6.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Forest Hill Falcons face off against the Seminole Ridge Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Forest Hill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season. As for Spanish River, they will head out to square off against Dr. Joaquin Garcia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
