Preview: Compass Academy vs. Alpine Bucks
Compass Academy is 0-3 against Alpine since November of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Compass Academy will be playing at home against the Alpine Bucks at 8:00 p.m. The timing isn't great for Compass Academy: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Alpine has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
Compass Academy lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They suffered a rough 54-34 loss at the hands of Kermit. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Compass Academy has suffered since December 8, 2023.
Meanwhile, Alpine slipped by Presidio 51-50 on Tuesday.
Compass Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Alpine, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Compass Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 74-55 loss to Alpine when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Compass Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
