Softball Recap: Kaneland Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Kaneland's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Naperville North Huskies by a score of 4-1.

Brynn Woods spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kaneland saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lillyana Crawford, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Crawford a new career-high.

Kaneland pushed their record up to 15-11 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Naperville North, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kaneland will host Morris at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Naperville North, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Addison Trail at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
