Redmond and Juanita are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will take on the Ravens at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Redmond's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over Inglemoor. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.
Redmond saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lance Burt, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Juanita entered their tilt with Bothell on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars, sneaking past 5-3.
Max Starikov looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Ronan Scoffield was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Cohen, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Juanita lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Redmond's record now sits at 5-6. As for Juanita, their record is now 6-4.
Juanita's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Redmond has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Juanita, though, as they've been averaging only 3.6 strikeouts. Will Redmond keep running through batters, or will the Ravens buck the trend?
Redmond couldn't quite finish off Juanita when the teams last played back in March and fell 3-1. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
