The Damonte Ranch Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Douglas Tigers at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Damonte Ranch will be strutting in after a win while Douglas will be coming in after a defeat.
Damonte Ranch is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 77-54 margin over McQueen on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Mustangs have posted since January 30, 2024.

Damonte Ranch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kylee Moscove led the charge by going 8 for 16 on her way to 18 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Moscove a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Kenney, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 14 points.
Damonte Ranch smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Douglas unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were dealt a 64-23 loss at the hands of Spanish Springs. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Damonte Ranch will have to contain Hailee Koontz as she made an impact in Douglas' last game. She posted six points and ten rebounds. Koontz has been hot, having posted ten or more boards the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Greenfield, who put up three points and five boards.
Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Damonte Ranch, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-12.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Damonte Ranch has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Douglas struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Damonte Ranch came out on top in a nail-biter against Douglas when the teams last played back in February of 2024, sneaking past 44-41. Does Damonte Ranch have another victory up their sleeve, or will Douglas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
