Softball Recap: Marina Gets the Win

Marina was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against the Anzar Hawks by a score of 9-5. That's more bragging rights for the Mariners, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Marina let CRISTINA LOPEZ and JAYLA NAVARRO run wild. LOPEZ scored a run while going 1-for-2, while NAVARRO scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

The victory made it two in a row for Marina and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Anzar, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Marina and Anzar will both be playing Gonzales the next time they take the field. The Mariners will host the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Hawks will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
