Basketball Recap: Richland Comes Up Short

Richland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sanger Indians. The game marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Richland still got an impressive performance from Jacob Battles II, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 17 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathieux Fayomi, who posted two points along with nine boards and three steals.

Richland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Sanger, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Richland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 51-50 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 13th. As for Sanger, they have also already played their next contest, a 56-35 loss against Krum on the 12th.
