There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. That and more in this week's report.
No Stoppin 'Em
Given its edge in the MaxPreps state rankings, a win looked likely for Sheyenne in its matchup against Dickinson. The team got that and then some. The final score between Sheyenne and Dickinson was a 57 - 21 blowout in Sheyenne's favor. The Dickinson defense has struggled this season (giving up an average of 32 points per game), and Sheyenne took advantage of that. The combined 78 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.
This Week's Big Showdown
The confrontation between Langdon/Edmore/Munich (4th in the power rankings) and Carrington/Pingree-Buchanan (6th) did not disappoint. Langdon/Edmore/Munich snuck past Carrington/Pingree-Buchanan with a 18 - 14 victory. The win raised Langdon/Edmore/Munich up three spots in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Fargo Davies (12th in the power rankings) and Century (3rd). Both teams are entering with last-week wins under their belts. Century and Fargo Davies both have plenty of landslide victories under their belts (Century with five and Fargo Davies with four), but only one can come away triumphant this week. We'll find out who that is soon.
