Football Recap: Edison Takes a Loss

Edison fell victim to Colonia and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 21-0 to the Patriots. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

It was another big night for Dylan Chiera, who rushed for 33 yards and one TD, and also threw for 120 yards on 12 of 23 attempts for Colonia. Those 33 rushing yards gave Chiera a new career-high.

This is the second loss in a row for Edison and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Colonia, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Edison will host St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Colonia, they will head out on the road to face off against Plainfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
