Basketball Recap: Escalante Takes a Loss

Escalante lost against Panguitch back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Escalante Moquis took a blow against the Panguitch Bobcats, falling 56-14. The matchup marked the Moquis' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Panguitch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tayt Miller led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Mallory Henrie was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to 11 boards and seven assists.

Escalante dropped their record down to 7-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Panguitch, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

Escalante will head out to take on Fredonia at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fredonia's defense has only allowed 24.8 points per game this season, so Escalante's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Panguitch, they are taking a road trip to square off against Bryce Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Panguitch is facing Bryce Valley at the right time seeing as Bryce Valley is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
