Football Game Preview: North Mecklenburg Vikings vs. Butler Bulldogs + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Gabriel McLaurin and DeMaurion Thomas-Wright are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The North Mecklenburg Vikings will face off against the Butler Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, North Mecklenburg lost to Mallard Creek on the road by a 33-14 margin. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Mavericks are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, Butler had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Chambers by a score of 23-12 last Friday.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Butler's defense and their three sacks. Kenyan Stewart refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Butler got some further help from Matthew Shields: he picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.

North Mecklenburg has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Butler, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
