Softball Recap: Wingate Takes a Loss

Wingate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tohatchi Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-14 on Tuesday.

Wingate's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Tohatchi, they pushed their record up to 10-11 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Wingate will challenge Thoreau at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.35 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Tohatchi, they will square off against Newcomb at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
