Baseball Recap: Bagdad's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Williams typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Bagdad proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 13-4 win. Considering the Sultans have won 15 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Rowdy Hooper was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Destry Owings, who went 3-for-4 with four runs and two stolen bases.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Bagdad lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Bagdad's fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Williams, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bagdad will welcome Sequoia Pathway Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Williams, they will host Joseph City at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
