Basketball Recap: Newnan Cougars vs. Langston Hughes Panthers

It was a proper cat-fight when Newnan took on Langston Hughes on Friday. The Newnan Cougars were beaten by the Langston Hughes Panthers 75-43. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-52 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Newnan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaylin Brown posted 17 points and four steals. Carston Reese also deserves some recognition as he scored his first point of the season.

Even though they lost, Newnan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 15 consecutive contests.
