Baseball Recap: Fairview Victorious

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Fairview and Brookside, and Fairview kept the tradition alive. The Warriors walked away with a 15-11 victory over the Cardinals on Tuesday. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 6-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Fairview got a massive performance out of Colin Meyers, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Meyers is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Carter Reagan was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Fairview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Fairview is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Brookside, they now have a losing record of 5-6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Fairview will challenge Cuyahoga Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brookside, they will take on North Olmsted at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.6 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
