Basketball Recap: Austin Long's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Vassar over Reese

Vassar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They fell 62-51 to the Reese Rockets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vulcans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-59 back in January.

Several Vulcans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austin Long, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 18 points and six assists. The contest was Long's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Bryce Brown was another key player, going 6 for 11 en route to 12 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Vassar's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Reese, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-7.

Vassar will take on Caro at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Reese, they will challenge Bad Axe at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
