Baseball Recap: Clinton County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Clinton County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They never let the Metcalfe County Hornets get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since May 1, 2024.

Not much got past Caleb Thrasher, who gave up just five hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Metcalfe County off the board. Clinton County is undefeated when Thrasher posts eight or more strikeouts, but 7-10 otherwise.

At the plate, Clinton County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Casada, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Clinton County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.

Clinton County now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Metcalfe County, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clinton County will host Clarkrange at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Metcalfe County, they will square off against Logan County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
