Recap: Mishawaka Cavemen vs. Fort Wayne Snider Panthers
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Mishawaka Cavemen, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They and Fort Wayne Snider were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Mishawaka suffered an agonizing 19-18 defeat. It was the first time this season that Mishawaka let down their fans at home.
Mishawaka's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Bryce, who picked up 123 receiving yards and a touchdown. Bryce was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 68 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey E thomas, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Mishawaka's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Fort Wayne Snider, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Mishawaka does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fort Wayne Snider will look to defend their home field on Friday against Merrillville at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Merrillville is ranked 38th, while Fort Wayne Snider is ranked 26th).
