Football Recap: Monsignor Pace Comes Up Short

Monsignor Pace had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-5 to make it six. They were beaten by the Cardinal Mooney Cougars 47-6. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Cougars are ranked seventh).

As for Cardinal Mooney, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Cardinal Mooney's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Davin Davidson, who threw for 226 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. 84 of Davidson's passing yards were hauled in by Bo Odaniel, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Monsignor Pace will face off against North Miami Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cardinal Mooney, they will square off against Tarpon Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
