Volleyball Recap: Mattoon Takes a Loss

Mattoon lost against Champaign Central back in September of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Greenwave fell just short of the Maroons by a score of 2-1. The Greenwave have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

When it comes to explaining why Mattoon lost, don't look at Brooke Jobe. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs and one assist. Jobe has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. Lillie Thompson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Mattoon's defeat dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Champaign Central, their win bumped their record up to 6-20.

Mattoon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Bloomington on the 4th. As for Champaign Central, they will host Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
