Basketball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Allen East's Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Allen East can now relate to. They took a 36-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crestview Knights. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Loss or not, Allen East got some senior leadership from Taylor Nickles and Rilynn Jones. Nickles posted eight points and 12 rebounds, while Jones earned 11 points and eight boards. What's more, Nickles posted two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2024.

Crestview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaci Gregory out in front who put up seven points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Crider, who had seven points in addition to ten boards and four steals.

Allen East moved to 19-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Crestview, they pushed their record up to 22-3 with the victory, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season.

Allen East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Crestview, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-43 loss against Columbus Grove on the 22nd.
