Baseball Game Preview: Lake Brantley Patriots vs. Bishop Moore Hornets

Lake Brantley is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while Bishop Moore is on a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. Lake Brantley will host Bishop Moore at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Brantley will be strutting in after a victory while Bishop Moore will be coming in after a loss.

Elijah Guzman tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cameron Penney was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Barr, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Bishop Moore suffered their biggest defeat since March 26, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against Liberty, falling 12-6.

Bishop Moore saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jorge Palacio, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Palacio also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Nick Wolsonovich was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Lake Brantley's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Bishop Moore, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.
