Preview: Cascade Cadets vs. Herron Achaeans
Cascade has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Herron Achaeans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cascade knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Herron likes a good challenge.
Cascade posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on South Putnam with a sharp 65-40 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Cascade has posted against South Putnam since January 27, 2017.
Toby Savini was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Connor Sanders, who scored 11 points along with six assists and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Herron's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 71-22 loss at the hands of Heritage Christian. Herron has not had much luck with Heritage Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
The victory got Cascade back to even at 6-6. As for Herron, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-15.
Cascade couldn't quite finish off Herron in their previous meeting back in December of 2020 and fell 66-64. Thankfully for Cascade, Tylen "ty" brown (who scored 23 points along with two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
