Softball Recap: Chittenango Comes Up Short

Chittenango entered their matchup against Fayetteville-Manlius on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bears fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bears have suffered since May 20, 2025.

Chittenango saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was MacKenna Palko, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Izzy McClusky also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Chittenango's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Fayetteville-Manlius, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Coincidentally, Chittenango and Fayetteville-Manlius will both be playing Maine-Endwell the next time they take the field. The Hornets will host the Spartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Bears will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
