Baseball Recap: Oakwood Gets the Win

Oakwood took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against LaPoynor, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Oakwood Panthers came out on top against the LaPoynor Flyers on Tuesday by a score of 6-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since March 27, 2024.

Oakwood now has a winning record of 4-3-2. As for LaPoynor, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.

Looking ahead, Oakwood will take on Mount Calm at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Oakwood has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for LaPoynor, they will take on Chapel Hill in a tournament on Thursday. LaPoynor is facing Chapel Hill at the right time seeing as Chapel Hill is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
