Baseball Recap: Garrard County Golden Lions vs. Pulaski County Maroons
Garrard County had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 13-19 to make it five. They lost 8-1 to the Pulaski County Maroons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Maroons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-5 back in April.
As for Pulaski County, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-13 record this season. Considering they have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
For Pulaski County's part, Dawson Branscum looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Will Adams was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Pulaski County is 11-1 when Adams posts two or more runs, but 8-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Farmer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
As of now, neither Garrard County nor Pulaski County have any future games scheduled.
