            Football Recap: Valhalla Norsemen vs. San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves        
        
		
        
        
            Valhalla had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves as they made off with  a  51-27 victory. The Norsemen not only won  on Friday, but they posted their biggest win  since August 30, 2024 (when they won  51-21).

Valhalla's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Jackson Newman led the charge by rushing for 118 yards and a pair of  scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 70 yards and two  touchdowns. That's the most  passing touchdowns  Newman has posted since back in September of 2024.  Jaime Pimentel also helped with two TDs in total.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Valhalla was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 234  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 176  rushing yards in four consecutive  matches  dating back to last season.
 Another reason for the win was Valhalla's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks.  Adrian Rojo-Hernandez was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.
 Despite the loss, San Jacinto Valley Academy still got an impressive performance from   Brayden Hutchinson, who rushed for 155 yards and one  touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 165 yards and one  TD on only 14 passes. Hutchinson's longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
 Valhalla has already played their next game,  a  28-8  loss against Mira Mesa on the 29th. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  46-20  win against Desert Mirage on the 29th.
