Basketball Recap: Newton Finds Playoff Glory Versus Pisgah

It's playoff time, and Newton had no trouble coming through when it counted. They snuck past the Pisgah Dragons with a 52-47 victory on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

When it comes to explaining why Pisgah lost, don't look at Laylah Johnson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 boards. Johnson has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 27 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Christan Love, who posted ten points.

Newton's win bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Pisgah, their loss dropped their record down to 28-2.

As of now, neither Newton nor Pisgah have any future games scheduled.
