Soccer Game Preview: South Webster vs. Chesapeake

The South Webster Jeeps will take on the Chesapeake Panthers in a tournament on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

South Webster's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Fairfield 8-0. Considering South Webster have won 12 matches by more than four goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Chesapeake hadn't done well against Northwest recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Panthers skirted past the Mohawks 4-3. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Chesapeake's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

South Webster pushed their record up to 14-1-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five contests. As for Chesapeake, their win bumped their record up to 12-2-3.
