Basketball Recap: Mount Airy's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Mount Airy had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Starmount Rams on Friday as the Mount Airy Granite Bears made off with a 64-40 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Granite Bears have posted since December 19, 2024.

Starmount lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sean Gregory, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Armstrong, who scored four points and three steals.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Airy will venture away from home to face off against North Stokes at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mount Airy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches. As for Starmount, they will head out to challenge Elkin at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Starmount is facing Elkin at the right time seeing as Elkin is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
