Softball Recap: Acorn Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Acorn's offense. They lost 11-0 to Mansfield on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Acorn of the 23-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Acorn's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Mansfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Acorn will head out to face off against Hector at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season. As for Mansfield, they will face off against Lavaca at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
