Baseball Game Preview: Prince George Royals vs. Matoaca Warriors

The Prince George Royals will take on the Matoaca Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Prince George and Colonial Heights had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Royals walked away with a 5-2 win over the Colonials on Monday. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Colonials recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Prince George saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camden Barnes, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, while Matoaca put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Hopewell. The Warriors put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Matoaca's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Prince George, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
